Purple Offers ‘Salvation’ Through New Remix EP
Purple - The Club (Shlohmo Remix)

Wedidit up-and-comer Purple is one of those musicians whose moniker also happens to serve as a fitting description of his music. His deep, hazy productions vibe well with his adoptive crew, but what really sets him apart from the rest of the gang is his ghostly vocal skill. This week, Purple follows up on last month’s Salvation EP with Salvation Remixes, released for free on Facebook.

Though Shlohmo tends to be the focal point in any discussion of the Wedidit Collective, the real stand-out in this three-track pack is Jim-E Stack’s hypnotic remix of Feel Alone, which plays out like Animal Collective being sampled by Salem for a relatively restrained witch house tune that’ll curse your ears with its infectious vocal hook. Meanwhile, IVVVO submits a throwback rave joint that offers a peak at what the ’90s might’ve looked like if these guys had been born about two decades earlier.

It’s difficult to see very far off into the distance through the thick purple fog, but we expect big things from all of these artists in 2014. The Wedidit takeover is nigh. Keep your eyes and ears peeled.
