The President Of Lithuania Has Commented On The Ten Walls Fiasco

Following Ten Walls’ shocking statements on gay people which sparked a massive outcry in the dance music community, the president of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė, has released a statement to journalists in the capital city of Vilnius that hopefully turns the tide in the historically homophobic country, the Lithuania Tribune reports.

I believe the incident benefits the state in a way that, in this country, we are becoming more and more open in our discussions about how insular we are, our intolerance of people who are different, as well as homophobia. I believe discussions are a healthy thing, we need more of them, as the sooner Lithuania becomes more open and more tolerant, the better it will be for the country.

As of now, native Lithuanian Ten Walls, otherwise known as Marijus Adomaitis, has been dropped by his US and European agencies, removed from the festival roster of HARD Summer, Creamfields, and Mysteryland Netherlands, and has canceled all his upcoming show dates, just to list a few of the disastrous consequences of his words.
