Polish bass maestro Xilent is only days away from the launch of his debut album, We Are Virtual. In the meantime, he’s unveiled one of the tracks off the album, Chemical, and LessThan3 has the exclusive first listen.
In a bit of a departure from his signature dubstep and drum & bass productions, Chemical is an upbeat and uproarious amalgamation of vocal-driven bubblegum pop and rousing French electro. Complextro-style pops and sizzles explode as rapid-fire synths streak through the audial canvas while Five Knives’ frontwoman Anna Worstell propels the action forward with energetic vocals.
“After a successful remix for the band Five Knives, I couldn’t resist asking Anna–the vocalist–to work on something together,” Xilent said. “Chemical was originally a much simpler yet bass-filled electro house idea and it wasn’t until Anna came in that it turned into a glitched up bio-cyborg love story.”
Pre-order Chemical and the rest of Xilent’s We Are Virtual LP ahead of its May 17 release date on iTunes here.
