Meet The Green Children (real names: Milla Sunde and Marlow Bevan), a European duo who write, sing, and produce all their own music. Their music has been described By Rolling Stone as “Dance-pop ballads from elfin dreamers… like Lady Gaga on a unicorn. Sunde gives synth-diva histrionics a mystical spritz, singing about dragons and black magic over skittering electro beats.” That likely piqued your interest, so you’ll be happy to know they just released a brand new album called Connection that you can pick up here.
It quickly becomes apparent when listening to TGC’s music that their sound is ripe for remix treatment, and that’s exactly what we have for you today–the Downlow’d remixes of album opener Feel The Light. Downlow’d took a very strong liking to the original track. “From the first moment I heard Feel The Light, I felt that the song really spoke to me on a personal level,” the producer stated. “The track is about being human–staying strong, and not losing faith when a tough situation arises, because there’s always hope at the end of that dark tunnel. Having experienced difficult situations myself, I felt very inspired by the original track. ”
The original Downlow’d remix takes a slightly harder path, interspersing dreamy vocals and sparkly synth work with hard electro riffs. The VIP take is a bit more quirky, with a wobbly drop reminiscent of Jack Beats. “I really wanted to take a couple of different approaches with the remixes, and create a new atmosphere that differentiates all of the tracks from one another,” Downlow’d told us. “In having done this, I feel like the remixes really take the original track in two super intense new directions, light and dark.” Take a listen to both versions exclusively here on LessThan3 before they drop on Beatport Aug. 16.
