Denmark’s Daniel Stoltenhoff may not be on your radar just yet (dude just made himself a Facebook page yesterday), but that’s about to change with the exclusive premiere of his zany new track Kookaburra right here on LessThan3. Download it for free over on SoundCloud.
Stoltenhoff has been patiently honing his style for years now, and Kookaburra is his strongest offering to date. He sometimes refers to it as “jump house,” which, with its gut-punching kick drum and chaotic syncopated drop (we assume that’s the titular kookaburra singing us its manic melody), is sure to sit pretty in many a big room festival set. In fact, the track has already received support from the likes of TJR and GTA, who dropped it in their EDC set. But it’s a far cry from the cookie-cutter big room sound that’s all too common these days, as Stoltenhoff fills Kookaburra to the brim with exotic percussion and left-field samples that give it a unique flavor all its own.
Stoltenhoff’s Kookaburra comes from Main Course’s Snacks: Volume 5 compilation, out Aug. 5.
