Russian doomsayer Proxy holds the distinction of being the first artist to release on Feed Me’s Sotto Voce record label (aside from Feed Me himself), and we are pleased–if a little terrified–to present an exclusive premiere of his brand new track Nemezis.
As its title suggests, Nemezis is a menacing, anxiety-inducing track that calls to mind dank, dimly lit basements and metropolitan alleys where no sane city-dweller dare tread after dark. If you’re looking for pleasantries, you’ve come to the wrong place–Nemezis is cold as steel. Proxy eschews standard percussion sounds in favor of clanking gun-metal, the slamming of dumpsters, and chains rattling in condemned warehouses, and the end result is downright sinister.
According to Proxy:
Nemezis is a mixture of my influences. Mainly from some of the sci fi films. Classics like Terminator 2 and Predator 2 that are often on in my studio for some reason! It kind of gives a sense of dark anarchy with a bit of humour with the driving aggression of some dirty analogue synth lines. It’s one that knocks the crowds out and been a live favourite in recent months.
Look out for the 10,000 / Nemezis single, out May 19 on Sotto Voce.
