Longtime French Express affiliate Moon Boots is all set to expand his horizons later this month with the release of his latest single Don’t Ask Why through Cr2’s Underground imprint. The track is bolstered by a pack of stellar remixes, chief among which is Vanilla Ace (pictured) and Barber’s deep and sinister take. LessThan3 has the exclusive premiere.
The original mix of Don’t Ask Why is a sexy, atmospheric synth pop cut clearly meant to show off the enormous talent of the relatively unknown (but not for long, if the tune is any indication) singer Kyiki. Vanilla Ace and Barber bring some serious upbeat swagger to the table for their extended, club-ready remix, which banks on a cavernous, downright menacing bassline that adds a sense of urgent anxiety to Kyiki’s reverb-soaked pipes. Moon Boots can do no wrong in this blogger’s eyes, but Ace and Barber’s remix gives the original track a run for its money, and is sure to set off discerning dancefloors across the globe in a matter of weeks.
Moon Boots’ Don’t Ask Why single is out Aug. 25, with Vanilla Ace and Barber’s remix to follow a week later on Sept. 1.
