Remember Taped Rai? They supplied vocals to a certain track with David Guetta, and it became a pretty big hit. Well, the Swedish duo has had a bit of a rebranding, stepping back onto the scene with a new name (Max Elto) and a new label to help propel them forward: Big Beat Records. Shadow Of The Sun was originally released back when the boys were known as Taped Rai, but a new push is bringing this criminally underrated release back into the spotlight with a re-release and remix EP. One of those remixes, provided by Sebjak and Tony Senghore, is available for first listen here today on LessThan3.
Given the peaceful nature of the original mix, I was a bit skeptical when presented with a “banger” remix of the track. However, Sebjak and Tony have done an excellent job of increasing the energy of the original while still maintaining the blissful serenity presented via the stark simplicity of Max Elto’s vocals. Expect this one to turn serious amounts of heads in clubs when it’s dropped.
The Shadow Of The Sun remixes will be out May 19 via Big Beat, and will also include takes from Mako and Michael Brun. Be sure to also check out the spectacular video for the original mix below.
