Kraak & Smaak’s new album Chrome Waves has kicked off with flying colors, with The Future Is Yours topping charts in the UK and Germany and being awarded the Tune Of The Month accolade in Mixmag. Today we’ve got another exclusive premiere for you from the album–an afrobeat-influenced track called Don’t Let People, featuring the voice of Berenice van Leer.
For those new to the band, Kraak & Smaak are a Dutch trio whose incredible live show and electric DJ sets have earned them performances at some of the biggest clubs and festivals around the world, including Coachella and Glastonbury. Their last album, Electric Hustle, hit #1 on Los Angeles radio station KCRW’s album chart. The boys have had a strong US following since Ultra Records picked up their second album following the success of single Squeeze Me, which features the vocals of Ben Westbeech, aka Breach.
Don’t Let People is unlike any electronic track you’ve ever heard, with African kalimbas accenting a slow, deep groove and soulful, chant-like vocals by Berenice van Leer. The perfect warm-up or cool down track for your night out on the town. Be sure to pick up the entire Chrome Waves album when it drops Oct 28 on Jalapeño Records.
