The sound of Brighton-based garage/bass producer AOTOA is an emotive and diverse mix of styles covering a variety of dance music. After breaking out in 2014 and hitting #1 on HypeMachine with a remix of Ephemerals’ You Made Us Change, AOTOA now makes his official debut with new single Come On People, and LessThan3 has the exclusive premiere.
Earmilk once declared that “AOTOA has got the UK garage scene on lockdown,” and after listening to Come On People it certainly seems the case. The song is a complex, layered groove featuring retro synths, percolating percussion, and infectious vocals courtesy of a sample from Deborah Cox’ It’s Over Now.
The Come On People EP is available Sept. 25 via Jalapeño and will include remixes from Fraems and Lindo Man.
