We may be only 15 days away from the release of Porter Robinson’s upcoming full-length album, Worlds, but right now, that feels like a lifetime. Lucky for us (and the rest of the world), Porter is empathetic to our plight, and as such, he’s released the fourth single off the album, Flicker.
Continuing his trend of genre-bending, outside the box dance music, Flicker is a joyous amalgamation of a little bit of everything. Opening with groovy, disco-themed guitar riffs and Japanese vocals, the song quickly transitions to an introspective, downtempo section, before eventually exploding into a triumphant, progressive climax that is as soaring as it is emotionally rewarding. Not quite finished, the song’s second half includes a stomping, bass-heavy electro section that feels a little bit like Justice. As has become the norm for Porter productions, we’re absolutely blown away.
Grab Flicker now and pre-order Worlds before it drops Aug. 12 here.
