Porter Robinson Announces Next Album With 10-Hour Video
Porter Robinson revealed details surrounding his sophomore artist album, Worlds, today in a 10-hour-long video featuring little more than the title, a low, humming buzz, and some computerized kangaroos and horses and sh*t.
A digital voice repeats the album’s title while polygonal animals and “【=◈︿◈=】” appear in succession in front of a colored static background for 1,200 mind-numbing minutes, posing more questions about the album than it answers. Considering the 21-year-old Robinson is an established member of the EDM prodigy club, we’re assuming that Worlds will be a little more dynamic, although frankly we wouldn’t mind a 10-hour album. In fact, Robinson announced back in November when he committed to Astralwerks for the release that his second LP will be, “beautiful, emotional, and vast-sounding,” describing it as “listening music,” not “party music,” as evident in the smooth, string-driven intro.
We’re decently sure nothing out-of-the-ordinary by comparison happens in the laughably long video, but you’d better spend the 10 hours to be sure.
