Pioneer Getting Rid of CDs With New XDJ-1000

has released the design of their newest all-digital media player, the XDJ-1000.

Described as “the first in a new line-up of digitally focused, USB-only, rekordbox-ready players,” the XDJ-1000 is similar to it’s predecessor, the Pioneer CDJ series, except it no longer includes the CD function. In it’s place is a USB port that will enable connections to USB storage devices, Rekordbox, and mixing software such as Serato. Instead of the CDJ-2000 Nexus model’s selection knob, The XDJ-1000 will feature a brand new touch-screen menu complete with a series of effects and looping tools.

Check out the official launch video below. The XDJ-1000 will be available in “late November” and will retail for £829/ $999/ €999.
