Let me start by saying that while not much is known about Phuture Doom, I think it’s safe to say that their debut EP Nightfall is one of the darkest and most intensely hardcore electronic things things to come out in a while. Since OWSLA’s creation, the label has continued to diversify and bring darker artists such as Phantoms, Birdy Nam Nam, and many others to the forefront of the electronic community. With that in mind, it’s clear that Phuture Doom is yet another that can be added to that growing list.
The EP doesn’t hold back at all and immediately gives off major dark acid techno vibes with Black Acid Reign, a track that seems like it would fit right into the vampire club scene from the first Blade movie. One of the other four tracks from the EP, titled Han Breaks, has more of the familiar hard techno vibes that can be heard throughout the EP mixed with what sounds like monks chanting. It comes together beautifully and makes for a very memorable first impression.
The entire EP is a breath of fresh air in the electronic music scene, albeit a very dark and demonic sounding one. Make sure to grab the EP on Beatport!
