Few people had heard of young British producer Philip George eight months ago, but since then, he’s had quite a journey. The latest chapter in his rapid rise to the top is his forthcoming single Alone No More, which looks set to be another smash hit before the year is out.
For those not familiar with the story, 22-year-old George shot to fame as a humble bedroom producer when his Stevie Wonder-sampling hit Wish You Were Mine was picked up by Liverpool DJ and 3Beat Records boss Anton Powers. It only just missed out on the UK #1 single spot in January, but has now achieved platinum sales status in the UK, with 700,000 copies sold worldwide. Alone No More builds on Philip’s knack for producing credible house records that are equally at home in a club as they are on mainstream radio. A catchy vocal, classic organ bass, and funky beat all combine with a heavy dose of nostalgia that should see this one match–or even surpass–the success of his debut.
Philip certainly has plenty of opportunity to road test the track, with appearances at pretty much every major UK festival–including Bestival, Creamfields, and V Festival–alongside two Ibiza residencies at Cream and Sankeys, plus gigs at the likes of BCM Majorca and Manchester’s Warehouse project to boot. Alone No More is due to drop in October, so keep an eye out for what promises to be one of the biggest tracks of the year.
