Peek Inside The S&M Porn Studio To Host HARD Events’ SF Debut

HARD Events is coming to the Bay Area for the first-ever HARD San Francisco, and they’ve secured one of the hottest venues in the City: a 100-year-old US National Guard armory-turned-S&M porn factory.

Come July 30, Brodinski, The Chemical Brothers, and more TBA will descend upon an all-new setting for Gary Richards and his LA-based event brand, despite the fact people have been getting “hard” there for years. San Francisco’s National Guard Armory and Arsenal–known around town as just “The Armory”–was built in 1912 in San Francisco’s Mission District and used by the National Guard until 1976, when they moved to Fort Funston in the City’s southwest extremities. Since then, the Moorish Revival-style castle building has been registered as a historical landmark and used for everything from sporting events to filming, most notably for several spaceship-interior scenes from Star Wars–that is, until its new owners took over.

Enter S&M porn site Kink[dot]com (go ahead and find it yourselves), who purchased The Armory in 2006 for $14.5 million and has held the building ever since, attracting plenty of opposition to their use of the historic structure.

The foreboding, clandestine nature and past militaristic applications of the building make a perfect setting for dark, brooding vibes the likes of which Brodinski and The Chem Brothers will surely bring by the truckload. This will be the only show in the region for TCB, who are touring to support their comeback album Born In The Echoes.
