It has been confirmed that Britney Spears will be releasing a new album that will indeed have a dubstep feel to it. The album is going to be dropping in on March, but her first single will be released at the beginning of 2011.
To get more specific, Spears will be combining forces with two different EDM duos in Chase & Status and Bloodshy & Avant, the latter of whom recently worked on Miike Snow’s 2009 album. As we have previously reported, Rusko will also be collaborating with Spears on the new album.
At first Rusko was shocked to get the call, and it has been reported that he will not “stray from his bass-heavy roots.” The wobbles and wamps artist has also said in response to Britney’s request that “it’s a bit random, but I’m excited by the challenge. One track turned out amazing. It’s proper hard dubstep.” This will definitely be be an even bigger breakout for the dubstep movement, and you can bet if all goes as planned other mainstream artists will follow suit.
