Over the past few years, UK producer Russ Chimes has put together an impressive catalog of anthemic, highly danceable tunes. With his mini-trilogy EP Midnight Club and recent EP Tonic/Helix, Chimes has had a breakout year.
Starting with his days in the Valerie Collective, I’ve always felt Chimes is at his best with the remix. His ear for potential monster tracks is astounding. Whether it be a ’90s classic or a contemporary pop hit, this Brit knows how to get people on the dance floor. Today, I bring you the latest in a long line of exceptional productions.
The original version of End of the World, composed by fellow London resident Alex Metric, is a dark indie-electro tune with prominent female vocals provided by Charli XCX. From this, Chimes takes a full 180 and completely rebuilds the song. With a bouncy bass line, driving build and pummeling drop, this remix won’t allow you to stay seated!
