Noisia Goes Interstellar
Noisia - Alpha Centauri (Original Mix) [Vision]
Noisia - Alpha Centauri (Excision & Datsik Remix) [Vision]

Noisia has just released their new single Alpha Centauri, along with a remix from dub masters Excision and Datsik, two DJs who are known for their outrageous, industrial sound. Noisia, who covers everything from drum n’ bass to dubstep, has given us a taste of what they sound like doing breaks. Straight off their album Split The Atom, Alpha Centauri is really quite a unique track. It starts off with an epic buildup and goes straight into the expected “noisiating” grime. You can’t help but bang your head along to this tune. after the dust has cleared, you’re left with galactic winds blowing at your face. The name is quite appropriate too; it sounds like it could belong in a sci-fi movie (Tron, anyone?). Overall, a great first release off their new album.

As if that wasn’t enough, we also get a sick remix from Excision and Datsik. It starts off sounding very similar to the original, but the first drop changes it all up. If you wanted to know what robots sound like fighting, well here ya go. Well-placed pauses and breakdowns serve to portray both artists’ sounds, while traces of Excision’s and Datsik’s individual touches can be picked out throughout the song. What a great choice of remixers to make a dark counterpart to the stellar original.
