The first ever North American travelling EDM only festival has just been announced, and it’s called Identity. The festival will span over 20 cities across the US and will feature big names like Kaskade, Pretty Lights, and Rusko at every stop. Other artists like Avicii and Skrillex will be performing at select dates, with the latter performing only one show. The Identity festival marks a big milestone for the EDM scene in North America, as it brings us one step closer to joining the ranks of EDM festivals in Europe. Who would have ever thought DJs would be touring together in one massive festival across America? If you ask me, it’s a pretty big deal.
The details for the festival have not yet been announced, but expect to hear more about tour dates and ticket sales on May 12th. For a more in depth look, check out The Huffington Post’s Interview with a Mr. Joel Zimmerman (sound familiar?), who is head of the US sector of William Morris Electronic. Mr. Zimmerman states that the festival will travel to locations that have a viable EDM market, as well as some places that have the potential to reach that level. There’s no doubt that this festival is going to be huge, and others similar to it are likely to follow in its wake. Keep your eyes peeled for more details!
