It’s fair to say Daniel Kandi has been one of the more prolific producers in the trance scene over the past several years. With releases on a range of labels and an impressive number of collaborations and DJ sets across the globe, he even found time to win the National Snooker Championship in his native Denmark… for five consecutive years. A talented guy indeed, but what’s even more astonishing is that with such a stunning career already under his belt, he has never released an original vocal track, until now.
Change The World is a blend of the solid melodic trance Kandi is best known for, with a vocal by English singer-songwriter Sarah Russell which could easily lend itself to an acoustic track. Russell proves to be a good choice, with soft vocals during the build that effortlessly complement the music almost without trying. The breakdown is typical Kandi: gorgeous pads, plucked leads and soaring piano, again featuring a vocal that works with the music, never threatening to overpower it.
Change The World is out now on all major download stores and leads Enhanced into a new year which promises to see them remaining one of the “go-to” labels when it comes to trance. Given this is a first attempt at an original vocal track for Kandi, it’s clear he’s got a knack for getting it right.
