SoCal bass broker Kennedy Jones and Jeffree’s are back today to announce that they’re only here for one thing.
Jones’ latest trapstyle triumph Came To Party opens with an urban-flavored blend of deep horn punches behind a choppy synth-and-snare march down what feels like the center of a large, empty street. After a short breakdown, an indiscernible vocal sample ushers in the first drop, which is understated so as to allow the core groove to shine with simplicity. Drop number two offers a similar build, but Jones accentuates the climax with the obligatory pistol cock and siren samples. True to its title, this one offers no muss, no fuss, just dirty trap beats to get you hyped.
Despite being only three months old, Jones’ solo project has already wedged its way into DJs’ sets worldwide with tunes like his seductive trap remix of Suavamente and his collaboration with Borgore, a 110-BPM remix of Macarena.
