Nero premiered another taste of their Between II Worlds album on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show today, sharing a refreshing reminder of the trio’s diversity in Two Minds.
The act typically known for anthemic dubstep and lacerating electro house threw fans a charming changeup with their latest, an upbeat house production with hints of indie dance built around the verse of their in-house crooner Alana Watson (pictured left). Two Minds rides on punchy, four-to-the-floor beat trimmed with gentle piano chords in the open spaces and a thick bassline resembling the rubbery texture of those found in modern or “future” house sounds in vogue today. The tune is another very vocal number from the new album that affords Watson and her impassioned pipes the spotlight, the last being their gorgeous dubstep ballad The Thrill.
The 12-track Between II Worlds LP is out on MTA Aug. 28. Pre-order here.
