Everyone’s favorite electro-infused alien is back with some colorful remixes. Myndset was kind enough to send us over some of his latest work, a remix of the DJ Khaled’s I’m On One. The original features hip hop’s biggest names, and has received regular airplay on the radio, but Myndset gives it some needed unce for those looking to get your shuffle on. The alien himself comments, “The song, originally at 75 BPM, had an thin drum pattern and while it has been getting a good amount of radio airplay, the beat lacked the elements of something you could really get down to in the clubs.” Get down, indeed–Myndset kicks things up with an assortment of drums, bass, and arpeggios that go from 75 BPM to 130 BPM in 0.0 seconds. Perhaps my favorite part is around the 1:58 mark, where things suddenly take a dive into the grimier side with a dubby drum pattern and progression of sick synth. It’s good when producers take the time to really put effort into a pop remix, and not make it some watered down “techno” song. Such is the case here.
Myndset was also nice enough to send over his bootleg of Benny Benassi’s Cinema. The bootleg incorporates three different remixes into one nice pretty package; the famous Skrillex remix, the uplifting Alex Gaudino remix, and the fantastic Jason Rooney remix are cut and placed perfectly into an absolutely huge track. The bootleg was originally featured on Myndset’s My Aim In Life mixtape, and after popular demand it’s finally available as a single song. Enjoy, earthlings.
