Back in September, Meshblorg posted about a couple of breakthrough DJs from Moscow that go by the name of Fast Foot. Since then, the duo has been busy at work releasing chart-placing singles on Beatport and touring abroad. A few months ago they released their single Protect Animals along with some fantastic remixes from the likes of Canada’s Lazy Rich, LA’s Alex Kidd, and up-and-comer Keemerah. Each remix is unique in their own right, and would make a nice fit into any DJ’s electro set.
We all know how much of a badass Lazy Rich can be with his productions, and this remix is no exception. Those who have an appreciation for glitchy Porter Robinson drops will instantly fall in love with this song. Alex Kidd’s remix sounds eerily similar, but not as out-of-control as the former. Finally, Keemerah gives us his unique take on Protect Animals. The song’s style is on the border between electro and breaks–quite different from any of the other remixes on this EP. A notable spot is the buildup around the 3:30 mark; it uses reverb and repetition to great effect, then brings it all back to that bangin’ electro sound.
