LessThan3’s got you covered with another dose of trancestep. After Dutch label Spinnin’ dealt the first taste of the genre, Ferry Corsten’s Flashover Recordings is getting in on packing wubbed out drops into trance songs. The latest genre collider is Destroy The Zombies by Urry Fefelove & Abramasi. Beginning like a haunted night on Halloween, the spooky tune takes a sudden turn for the dirty and drops with one of the two Russians exclaiming “Motherf***ing Big Fat Bass”.
Returning as one of the style’s pioneers, Jacob van Hage dubbed out Ferry Corsten’s 2011 hit Feel It. His claim to fame this year arrived with the release of the mindblowing Spotfire, which even Armin van Buuren dropped at an Armin Only show in Russia. Jacob’s take on Feel It is a musical hybrid of Chicago house, dark tech trance, and dubstep–some are even calling it “trousestep.”
Above & Beyond have also continued to sign dubstep and drum’n’bass remixes of their Group Therapy singles. Taking their latest hit Thing Called Love, Marlow’s dubstep mastery generated a powerfully dark yet melodic variant of their hit.
