To say Michael Woods had a big year in 2011 is a bit of an understatement. The prog house maestro went from a virtual unknown in the states and Europe to booking dates at some of the biggest festivals and clubs around the world. The attention is well-deserved, to say the least. Among the forefront of progressive house producers, Michael Woods is definitely an LT3 favorite. While big-room melodies have taken off over the past year, Woods’ tracks are particularly memorable. Beyond the cutting-edge productions and massive drops that define his tracks, Michael Woods knows how to make music that is inexplicably sublime.
His latest big single Airborne is a perfect reflection of Woods 2012. While certainly not a major evolution in his style, Woods does he what does best here, and includes one of my favorite melodies he’s produced to date. It’s no surprise given his background. In his in interview with LessThan3, Woods attributes his ability to create wonderful chord progressions to a life ong study of music. With too many hit tracks to count in a short span of time, it won’t long before everyone is raving about Michael Woods once again.
