The best thing about being a dance music fan in the wintertime is back with what could be the most exciting Miami Music Week calendar ever put together.
MMW goes down March 25-30 leading up to Ultra Music Festival, and traditionally packs a serious punch, with this year being no different. The world-class lineup of UMF allows for a who’s-who of talent to be present in Miami at the same time, making for a raucous six days of big-name showcases and takeovers in clubs, concert venues, hotels, and anywhere else you can think of to rage.
Flux Pavilion is slated to “blow the roof” off of the Grand Central launch party Tuesday, March 25, the same day as Miami Massive takes over Nikki Beach with a stacked lineup of house names and more.
Jackathon Jams joins the Hotflush team the following day, March 26, to bring Heidi, Scuba, and more to Treehouse for a showcase starring talent from the two influential labels. Spinnin’ Records is back this year for another Spinnin’ Sessions party customarily outfitted with the best the big room and electro label has to offer, including Martin Garrix, R3hab, Dvbbs, Ummet Ozcan, and more tearing it up at Nikki Beach for 11 hours beginning at noon.
The crew at HARD Events have whipped up a two-day “Rump Shaker” series at Grand Central that will be more than “hard” to skip–try “impossible.” Boys Noize, Zeds Dead, RL Grime, and more get the booties bouncing on day one (March 26), while day two will bring Basement Jaxx (DJ set), Brodinski, Claptone, and more than a few others to HARD’s hot-as-f*ck two-day throwdown under the sun.
The star-studded Remembrance Festival Thursday, March 27 has become a keystone event this year as Dada Life, Tommy Trash, MAKJ, and of course, Bingo Players join to raise money for cancer research and to honor the late great Paul Baumer after his untimely passing in December.
Laidback Luke and crew take over the National Hotel the same day for the Mixmash Pool Party starring LBL and more TBA. Rounding out one of the biggest days of the week, Markus Schulz puts on his long-distance shoes for the nine-hour “Open-To-Close Marathon” at Space beginning at 10 p.m.
Vandit Records boss Paul Van Dyk headlines Space on Thursday, March 28 (Day one of UMF) with support TBA, kicking off at 10 p.m. The Raleigh Hotel hosts the Toolroom Knights vs. Stereo Productions party starring Mark Knight, Chus & Ceballos, UMEK, Prok & Fitch, and more for a 12-hour showdown beginning at 12 p.m.
With Bayfront Park booming through day two of UMF, March 29 will also offer a Cedric Gervais-curated party at the Shelborne Hotel going down at at 12 noon. The final day of MMW goes out big with the Boysnoize Records’ “BNR Invasion” party Sunday, March 30 featuring sets from “Boys Noize & friends,” which, given boss-man Alex Ridha’s rolodex, could mean anyone.
