The first list of artists set to perform at Burning Man 2015 has been revealed, courtesy of Mayan Warrior.
While the eight-day event, which takes place from Aug. 30 to Sept. 7, is about far more than lineups, we have to admit that the Mayan Warrior’s art car lineup is impressive. Originally created to showcase contemporary Mexican electronic music, this year’s lineup features international DJs such as Maceo Plex, Mathew Johnson, Barnt, and more.
While some fans and attendees of the world-renowned “temporary metropolis dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance” were overjoyed with the announcement, not everyone was happy about the leak.
Here is what Burning Man founder Marian Goodall had to say to Mayan Warrior:
“You all should not be posting your Burning Man lineup in advance. Burning Man isn’t a venue. It’s a community. You are risking your status as a permitted art car. Theme camps risk the same by commodifying Burning Man. There are no extra tickets for Burning Man. Promoting music at the event beyond those that are able to attend creates a false impossible desire to attend due to the music and lineup. Please discontinue. We are currently creating and about to post the policy.”
