Holland’s GANZ has been whipping out some huge tunes lately. “Huge” as in overpowering cascades of rich, textured sounds. In an article from Pitchfork in 2011, the writer describes the fullness of producers like Hudson Mohawke and Rustie as “maximal”, implying huge drums that burst out of the speakers, multiple melodies in a single song–generally an overwhelming blanket of soundwaves. GANZ is certainly on the maximal tip, consistently delivering bass-heavy tunes in shades of purple.
Not sticking to a single genre, the Dutch producer has been showing depth in his work as of late. Bonecrusher is a sultry sub bass-laden romp into chilled trap territory. He also churned out a crunk version of AlunaGeorge’s Superstar. To round out the list, GANZ get’s garage-y on Brainwash, which is available for download via xlr8r.
Keep an eye out for his upcoming EP PVRPLE CWTCH, dropping soon.
