Hold on to your butts guys, because this one might go down as an all-time classic. Straight off Mat Zo’s hotly anticipated album Damage Control comes Lucid Dreams, a shining, sparkling, genre-bending anthem. This is the third single on the album, following up on the chart-topping Porter Robinson collab Easy, and Pyramid Scheme, featuring Public Enemy’s Chuck D, and it could very well be my favorite to date.
Although it does share some similarities to the aforementioned Easy, Lucid Dreams is so much more. Featuring a bass-heavy intro, an ethereal build, and massive (seriously) big room synths, this is the new feel-good track of the season. On top of that, Zo tosses in beautiful vocals straight from the MRSA track Recurring Dream, which just so happens to be Zo’s old DnB alias. This is one of those songs that instantly puts a smile on every face in the room when it comes on. The single officially drops Oct. 29, and the full album is available on the 5th of November (Remember, remember). I’ve had the pleasure of listening to Damage Control in its entirety, and the best word to describe it is “Wow.” I’m not going to spoil anything for you, but there are a few surprises on there that will blow your mind. Until then, get lost in the dream of this beautiful song.
