On Saturday November 4th, Markus Schulz made the lives of the employees at Marquee Las Vegas just a tad more stressful, when hundreds of EDM fans tested the capacity of the new venue. The trance hero was willing to prove their efforts
weren’t in vain by delivering a glorious performance that turned thinkers into believers.
Blake Jarrell warmed up the crowd with a set that kept the massive crowd under a spell
of tonic control. Just as people were starting to wonder when Markus was going to come
on, there he was like magic, causing the crowd to go absolutely berserk.
The high quality sound system along with the properly planned acoustics of the venue
created a cloud of pure sound that animated all physical things. His drumbeats had a
wide variety of differentiation, the drops caught you delightfully off-guard, and each track
transition in the set went unnoticed, like a good spy. There were dancers performing
in the rafters of the stage in front of a bright wall-sized screen with trippy sequences
that attracted people as if they were mosquitoes. Everyone was shoulder-to-shoulder, and security was working as hard as they could
to control the sheer flow of people weaving their way onto the dancefloor.
Overall, this was truly a spectacle of a night. The atmosphere was a perfect storm of
positive energy that capsized any negative thought from occurring. The location was
stunning, the people were in good spirits and the music was happily provided
