The original Rude Boy of Bass, Major Lazer (aka Diplo and company) is back with a new single off the upcoming album Free The Universe. Jah No Partial is an awesome blend of electronica, dubstep and reggae/dancehall, once again proving to the world that Diplo can make whatever he wants, in any genre, and it will still kick ass.
Jah No Partial samples reggae legend Johnny Osbourne’s 1981 release Mr. Marshall, and features Flux Pavilion’s own nasty style of heavy bass to create a nice fusion of different sounds. The song is funky and playful, and yet at the same time it goes off with a hard dubstep drop. This is a taste of why everyone is so excited for the full album release–Free The Universe is going to merge EDM and dancehall in a unique way we’ve never seen before. The album drops February 19 on Mad Decent/Downtown Records, but you can pick up the new single on iTunes today and watch the official video below!
