French electronic artist M83 delivered the seminal synthpop masterpiece Midnight City in 2011. A year later, Eric Prydz dropped our collective jaws to the floor with his powerhouse remix. Fast forward to present day, and 20-year-old German producer SAINT WKND (formerly WKND) takes the song to soaring new heights with his decidedly futuristic remix.
2014 was huge for WKND, as he delivered a string of hit songs including an edit of Chet Faker’s Lover, which claimed the #1 spot on Hype Machine’s charts. For his first release of the year, SAINT WKND returns with a punchy little future bass rework reminiscent of Flume‘s productions, but with a little hint of tropical flavor that should please fans of Kygo. Atmospheric and unquestionably epic, the remix sees Anthony Gonzalez’ pensive original transformed into a sparkling, sun-soaked anthem, perfect for those warm rides in the car with the top down.
