SMOG Records has been proudly furthering bass culture in Los Angeles for six years now. To celebrate their achievements and the thriving scene they’ve cultivated, SMOG threw down an epic party last Friday on the eve of their anniversary at The Roxy Theatre in Hollywood.
Loyal to their diehard fans, the SMOG curators filled the lineup top to bottom with their label’s heavy hitters, including Truth, SPL, and Noah D. These guys drew mad respect from the crowd by staying true to dubstep’s original sound of sub-heavy basslines and face-slapping percussion. It was clear that the sound crew for the night really knew what they were doing with the bass, nailing those low frequencies.
Changing it up with some trap style beats, headliner Antiserum took over the stage next and blew up the show with explosive tracks like Brick Squad Anthem and his collab with label head 12th Planet, Bass Salt. Speaking of the SMOG records co-founder, 12th Planet surprised everyone with two huge surprise guests–Nero and Kill The Noise. Together the three threw down an insane back-to-back-to-back set that had everyone on the dance floor bouncing off their toes and roaring with excitement.
