Great decorations add a wealth of life to any party–something the guys from the Shakedown Vol. 2 event last Tuesday at Exchange LA are apparently well aware of. I’m talking about the mainstage being lined from bottom to top and side to side with dozens of beautiful blacklight flowers and glowing towers while in the back of the venue housed an enormous colored jellyfish, thanks to the production company ITS Music Playground. There was also a unicorn-themed party starring the Black 22s in the downstairs room with nearly everyone there sporting mini unicorn hats and getting down to electro breaks.
Talent was definitely in the house with artists like the SoCal duo No Body, who recently won Insomniac’s Discovery Project Contest. These two brought no mercy with them; their aggressive style ripped the place to shreds with one vicious banger after another. Later after midnight, the SMOG crew took over and unleashed their pal Flinch (Pictured Above) onto the decks for some downright mean dubstep. Things got a little crazy when the mosh pits erupted in the crowd and all the hotties began to get down and dirty. Static_Cast of Long Beach came over and finished the show with sheer bass brutality with tracks like What by Bassnectar.
