Last Friday we witnessed Krewella and Flosstradamus throw down some of the most ruthless sets that we’ve ever seen go down at Avalon Hollywood. At first everyone managed to hold their composure relatively well, but then all hell broke lose when Flosstradamus took the stage and unleashed a barrage of room-shaking kick drums and face-slapping percussion. The vibe was insane; several mosh pits erupted across the dancefloor and every girl in the building let out their inner freak. It’s one thing to hear about them being banned from Chicago because their parties got too crazy, but it’s another thing entirely to actually witness them live and see why.

Flosstradamus wore some sick blacklight-activated hoodies complete with caution sign emblems. Commanding enormous stage presence, the duo started off their killer set with their beautiful Lana’s Theme before dropping into their brutal trap versions of hardstyle like Deaf, Details, and Total Recall, all while mixing in samples from rap tunes including Waka Flocka Flame’s Grove St., French Montana’s Pop That, and Put Yo Hood Up by Lil Jon and The Eastside Boyz.

Their killer mix selection was filled with many aggressive tracks, like RL Grime’s version of Satisfaction by Benny Benassi and even a sick remix by Candyland of Darude’s Sandstorm. In closing they played Underground Anthem and gave a “thank you” to everyone out there who supported underground music. If you’re in Chicago area, be sure to attend their upcoming show at Metro, which will be the first in their hometown since being temporarily banned by the city.

More talent from Chicago came on next with Krewella, who let loose a downright mean selection of heavy-hitting bass and energizing vocals. The sexy trio were very interactive with the crowd on their mics and even threw out some t-shirts for their adoring fans. Keeping everyone’s hands in the air and off their feet, Krewella blew up the party with bangers like their new single Come & Get It. After leaving such a wake of destruction in Hollywood, we can definitely recommend that everyone catch them live on their current tour.
