Named after this year’s mega anthem with Alesso, Dirty South’s City of Dreams tour touched down in LA last Saturday at the grand Hollywood Palladium. The sold out event featured solid, big room openers like Deniz Koyu and Arty who both put on their A game. Deniz played plenty of his wild, trumpet-blasting tracks like Tung! and Bong before finishing off strong with his euphoric Wynter Gordon collab Follow You. Arty drew quite a bit of <3 from the crowd, with many in the audience wearing his t-shirts and holding up signs that say "No Arty, No Party". Halfway through his set, the Russian prodigy let loose the unreleased Mat Zo and Porter Robinson collab Easy that’s coming out soon on Anjunabeats.
Dirty South has been a huge SoCal favorite for years and finally he got his own headlining Palladium event. Loads of fans screamed with joy when he took up the stage and many held signs referencing his enormous appetite for Nutella. He laid down quite a variety of styles during his three-hour set, going from bouncy, tech house-inspired electro like TJR’s new hit Ode To Oi to his own blissfully catchy tunes like his remix of Embrace Me by John Dahlback. He also took the opportunity to let loose his latest euphoric creation with Michael Brun, Rift.. This powerfully driving beast had everyone flying off their toes and is presently climbing fast up on the progressive house chart of Beatport.
