March 2nd marked a new milestone for LA’s EDM scene with Control celebrating their three year anniversary at Hollywood’s Avalon nightclub. They’ve been dealing a variety of beats every week including electro house, dubstep, and even some acts from the indie beats scene like Nosaj Thing and Daedelus. Their vision has always been to offer fresh and upcoming talent a large and proper venue to perform in, and so far they’ve done a spectacular job of showing LA what’s up.
Those who came to the wild party were in for a real treat with a loud and banging set by London’s Tommy Trash. His sound has been earning a lot of attention recently; electro titans like Lazy Rich have even praised his music as the cutting edge of the genre. Before a roaring crowd at the Avalon, Tommy tore it up, dropping some of his latest releases like Sex, Drugs, Rock N Roll, his remix of Ladi Dadi by Steve Aoki and Wynter Gordon, and his new big room anthem on PinkStar, Cascade. I especially remember when he dropped my personal favorite of his, Monkey See Monkey Do, and the legion of his fans in the crowd all went ape (no pun intended). Finishing off the last of the crowd’s seemingly endless energy came none other than Brazil’s Felguk. They knew just how to keep up the momentum as they rocked some of their latest tracks, includind new collab with Dirtyloud, NUDGE.
