Think you’ve had about enough of Chris Brown’s escapades? Think again. The self-proclaimed prince of pop is back with a vengeance, this time receiving some help from acclaimed DJs AC Slater and Dillon Francis. AC Slater, always known to deliver the finest in electro and fidget house, brings us an electrified house version of Brown’s newest song, Look At Me Now, while experimental producer Dillon Francis has flipped the hip hop beat into a bendy dubstep tune.
Whenever I think of AC Slater, I think of something that’s just a bit more than I can handle. His newest entry into his remix catalog does not deviate from that criteria. The first part of his song combines the rap lyrics with a fresh two-step groove, then Slater switches things up into a bouncing house beat. He also utilizes some of the song’s original bendy samples to great effect in all the right places. But the best part? Busta Rhymes’ part–that sh*t is just dirty. This one is sure to drop hard at a club near you.
Next up is a chilled-out dub remix from LA’s Dillon Francis. The remix starts out with a minimal vibe, employing that same bendy sample. Things build up fast in a combinations of bass and laser effects, then comes what I like to call the “drunken two step.” This might also look familiar to you as The Bernie. But seriously, it’s a pretty cool experimental dub flip, and as long as you don’t take it too seriously, it sounds pretty rad. Props to Francis for thinking creatively.
