Progressive house fans, rejoice: Sasha is back! It’s been a minute since we last heard from the living legend, who returns to reinvent British trip hop trio London Grammar’s breakout hit Hey Now. The single has already seen remixes from the likes of Tensnake and Bodhi, but this version is nothing less than otherworldly.
At eight and a half minutes, it’s a dreamy and dynamic progressive masterpiece, chockablock with rolling basslines, quirky synths, and the poignant vocals of lead singer Hannah Reid. Sasha, with his unique touch and forward-thinking style, carefully balances the cosmic and the groovy whilst maintaining the soul of the original production.
“It’s funny, I had already heard the first four tracks of London Grammar’s EP at home before they brought it to me—I’ve always been a fan of that distant, melancholic sound. I really try to inject that into what I do, so this was a perfect match.”
We couldn’t agree more.
