Loadstar Gets Deep
Loadstar - Drowning (Original Mix) [RAM]

Gavin Harris and Nick Hill, ubiquitously known as Loadstar, have just released a free d&b tune called Drowning, downloadable at their website or Facebook page for a limited time. Out via RAM Records, Drowning serves as a preview for the duo’s forthcoming album Future Perfect, set for release on May 5th. Formerly known as Xample and Lomax, the Loadstar boys have been feeding bass heads a steady diet of bangers lately, coming off of a double A-side EP featuring massive tunes Vatican Roulette and Black & White. Both of these songs were praised by the biggest names in the scene, hailing accolades from BBC’s Crissy Criss and amassing half of a million views on UKF’s YouTube channel.

Drowning is sure to follow up right where Black & White left off, combining a deep, immersive bassline with a rich, soulful vocal. There is an entrancing quality about the lead synth deployed on Drowning–a pulsing metronome underpinning the tune’s serene groove. If there was ever a song that exemplified a quiet storm in d&b, it would be this shadowy track. Make sure to pick up Drowning while it’s still available to download for free.
