France has been exporting some exciting and unique music alongside the reemergence of Daft Punk. One example of this trend can be seen with Frenchman Lifelike (pictured) and London cohort Tommi Bravo’s new release on Nurvous Records, Urban Sex. I had the pleasure of hearing this dropped at the end of Lifelike’s set in Boston, MA earlier last month and it absolutely stole the show. You’ll understand why within the first minute of clicking play.
Urban Sex cranks up the energy right from the start with triangle samples, upbeat percussion, vocal chops and plenty of unique one-shots that keep you interested. After a minute, you are introduced to the heart of the track with striking synth lines alongside the vocals. The style switches up shortly after to drive home slamming percussion samples that definitely had my whole body moving when I heard it live. Pieces are removed and reintroduced throughout the track to remove any chance of monotony. Pick up Urban Sex on Beatport today.
