Remember LEVI? No, not the denim manufacturer; I’m talking about the previously unheralded Frenchman that dropped the best deadmau5 remix of the year. Well, he’s back with his newest original production, Migraine, and he’s also here to set the record straight.
“Migraine was an idea that just sort of came to me after the whole fiasco with the deadmau5 Drop The Poptart bootleg I did,” LEVI said. “After the bootleg got so much attention, I felt like I needed to release an original so that my fans would be able to identify my personal sound.”
To do so, LEVI showcased his electro-progressive chops his own way in the made-from-scratch Migraine.
“Making a remix is fun, but it’s a strange concept to remix a track from an artist like deadmau5 while also staying true to the sound I’m trying to cultivate… especially since I’m going for an electronic progressive approach. Migraine focuses on the mood I’m going for, and the fashion in which I want to present it,” he said.
Not only is Migraine a big, bad, progressive beast, I urge you to listen to it with good headphones to get the full experience. It also offers insight into the mind of a very talented young producer. Keep your eyes and ears open for LEVI, because the sky’s the limit for this one. Follow him on SoundCloud here.
