The term “epic” is often thrown around, but there’s one man who always measures up to the definition of the word–Michael Woods. The UK DJ recently moved to SoCal, and to celebrate he packed a sold out Control show at Hollywood’s Avalon on Friday, March 30th. He clearly has quite the dedicated fanbase in SoCal–there were even fans in the audience who had seen him the night before in Orange County and were going for a second helping!
Joining the master of big room sound was Michael’s pal Andrew Bennett, who Michael introduced when he took the stage. His set was heavy on melodies, with many trouse tunes like Arty’s remix of Walking Alone by Dirty South. Michael was clearly welcome in his new hometown when he stepped up to the stage at midnight; a tremendous roar echoed throughout the club. He opened with his recent banger Airborne and later had everyone getting down and dirty to his his version of Shinjuku by Funkagenda as well as his trademark anthem No Access (see video here). Finishing off the wild party came the up-and-coming Pierce Fulton, who kept up the energy with loads of head-banging, aggressive electro deep into the AM.
