Hard Rock Sofa vs Dirty South - Quasar Is Coming Home (Sebastian Ingrosso & Axwell Bootleg)

It’s a quite a mark of LA’s scene for it to rain and still have a swarm of beautiful people fill up Hollywood’s Avalon on March 16th. Control’s parties are very well in tune with the pulse of LA as well as proper talent from around the world, and this past Friday was no different. In addition to a warm up set by the local Brian Matrix, we were treated to not only Sandro Silva of the Netherlands but also Russia’s hard-hitting Hard Rock Sofa. Both these last two headliners I would would have definitely gone to see individually, so to have them share the stage in my favorite club was a true two-for-one deal.

The overall sound of the night was oriented around big room anthems like Anima by Tim Mason. However, both Sandro Silva and Hard Rock Sofa made sure to find a sensible balance between melodies and aggressive electro basslines with hybrid tracks like Troll by Qulinez and full-on rage machines like Kick Out The Epic Motherf*cker by Dada Life. The absolute climax had to be when Hard Rock Sofa dropped the Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell super-mashup of their track Quasar with guitars from Daft Punk’s Aerodynamic and the voice of Skylar Grey from the Dirty South remix of Coming Home.
