Kaskade may sell out stadiums with his massive big room hits, but he also continues to further the deep/progressive house scene immensely through his side project Late Night Alumni. The group made up of Ryan (Kaskade), Becky, John, and Tim have crafted their own unique style together. They recently took their music to stages across North America on tour and proved that they’re one of the finest live house music acts today (see video below). Now the fans really have something to celebrate, too: a brand new album out on Ultra Records called The Beat Becomes A Sound.
The Beat Becomes A Sound stays true their acoustic roots but also steps up the energy for some club-bound tracks. The album begins with laidback house jams like Ring A Bell that take you on a gentle ride and set the mood for what’s to come. Guiding the album are Becky’s comforting vocals; her angelic voice has so much character. She’s especially dreamy in Every Breath Is Like A Heartbeat, a captivating tune graced with soothing acoustic guitars and graceful strings near the climax. Sapphire stands out distinctly as one of the more upbeat tracks; it’s far more electronic than the rest and features massive trance synths.
Get the album here off iTunes. Also, stay tuned for our upcoming interview with the group!
