Have you ever had that one special song that was stuck in your head that you could never quite get out? Well, that’s exactly what happened to me with Kontact Me by Boys Noize. Boys Noize is an artist that needs no introduction, and this single is seemingly the same way. Kontact Me has been smashing up dancefloors for about a year and a half now, and the sheer energy of this track still does not cease to amaze me. Right from the beginning, haunting waves of voltage flow towards you with the intermittent message Come with me. Do you remember? Soon after, lines of drum and thumps of bouncing bass kick in to let you know you’re in for a wild ride. The wavy synth drop at 2:04 has a particular wooing effect on me and keeps the song exciting. Even though techno can be a bit repetitive, I swear you don’t notice it at all in this track; it’s sheer electric enjoyment. Boys Noize is a master at delivering techno with incredible drive.
If you thought Kontact Me wasn’t enough (like me), then you’re in luck–there’s a remix EP! It includes some pretty heavy reworks done by Housemeister and my personal favorite, Rynecologist. The Rynecologist remix is a bit dancier than the original, but it manages to keep the same powerful tone that was projected in the prototype. I’ll upload this remix, but if you want to listen to the others, you’ll have to buy the EP yourself! I’ve also added a video from Boys Noize’s EDC 2009 intro, where he pays tribute to Michael Jackson with the opening of Thriller, which leads perfectly into Kontact Me. It sends chills down my spine every time. Enjoy!
