Rob Swire made good on his promise of wrapping up albums in early May, as he announced today that the debut full-length from Knife Party now has a name and at least nine confirmed tracks.
Swire and his fellow Knife-Partier Gareth McGrillen shared the news via Twitter:
The album will be titled "Abandon Ship". Coming to a whatever near you, whenever we finish it. Good day pic.twitter.com/svHIuEM6Dw— Knife Party (@knifepartyinc) June 8, 2014
While we still have no release date, a June 6 Tweet shares their current stage of the creative process and ensures Abandon Ship will be a feast for fans offering more than twice the sharp-sided objects as any previous Knife Party release.
Album update: 9 of 12 tracks confirmed, 5 in the "maybe" pile, 5 in the "ideas" stage. 2 weeks til mastering.— Knife Party (@knifepartyinc) June 7, 2014
Those lucky enough to catch their upcoming performance at EDC should be in for a sizeable taste of Abandon Ship, and with a new Pendulum album still to come, 2014 is shaping up to be an even bigger year for fans of Swire and McGrillen’s punishing brand of electronic music.
