Between all of the wobble, breakbeats and other gritty elements that generally come with dubstep, “pop-infused” is one of the last descriptions I expect to hear for a hit new track, although that seems to be becoming more of a likelihood by the day. Apparently Australian talent Kito sees things a bit differently. Her 2010 hit LFO, in collaboration with Reija Lee, is 40% dubstep, 30% pop, and 30% experimental. Not sure how that may sound? Well, give the track a listen and it will sound like a 100% dancefloor killer.
This year, Kito’s first EP dropped, gaining much acclaim from labels like Mad Decent and artists such as Skream, Joker, and Benga. It looks like she’s here to stay, so be on the lookout for lots more from Kito in 2011!
